The natural beauty of the immense sauvage CAMARGUE region. A landscape of exceptional flora and fauna, lagoons, marshes, roselières, canals and dunes with the famous wild Camargue horses, the majestic flights of flamingos, the variety of migrating birds, the festive spirit of local traditions, taureaux, férias, corridas, courses camarguaises, manades, gardians…

The vineyards: Costières de Nimes AOC, Vins des Sables. The ‘Cave Pilote de GALLICIAN’ is especially recognised for the qualities of their welcome and wine tasting cellar.
Also do try the delicately parfumed Fleur de Sel de Camargue, Saucisson de Taureau, Camargue Rice, Asparagus and local Fruit etc.

The Cité Médiévale of AIGUES MORTES (11th century),remparts, chapelles, river port, restaurants, boutiques, animations and expositions, ‘Le Domaine de Listel ‘, the ‘Salins du Midi’, ‘la Tour Carbonnière’, a classed historical monument.
     
La Grande Motte   25 mins
The ports of LE-GRAU-DU-ROI ,very active fishing port with colourful restaurants along the canal leading towards the sea, LA GRANDE MOTTE, well know for it’s 196O’s style of architecture, fabulous long sandy beaches, very big pleasure port, restaurants/bars and boutiques.   
PORT CAMARGUE
one of the largest pleasure sailing ports in Europe, with the famous fine sandy beach, ‘l’Espiguette’.

The famous Roman Amphithéatres of NÎMES and ARLES, Van Gogh, Christian Lacroix, Férias, Festivals, Historic and Cultural Museums, Restaurants, Antique and lively local markets.

Not forgetting SAINTES-MARIES-DE-LA-MER , the patrimonial city of the Gitanes, the Parc Ornithologique, natural reserve of 60 hectacres for bird lovers !
     
Pont du Gard   Within the hour's drive
You may also wish to visit UZES (the provençal ambiance of the Place des Herbes and markets).
The very famous PONT DU GARD, AVIGNON (le Palais des Papes), and MONTPELLIER (‘baroques’ buildings, elegants parcs, cultural manifestations).
The two very well known villages of BAUX-DE-PROVENCE and ST. REMY-DE-PROVENCE.
     
Perrier Vergeze   Very locally
you must visit LE CAILAR, (10 mins) a typical Camargue village with strong taurine traditions, VERGEZE (15 mins) source of the famous PERRIER, ‘LE CENTRE DE DECOUVERTE DU SCAMANDRE’ (5 mins) is a wonderful natural reserve with walking tracks through the local paysage.

In our village, GALLICIAN (walking distance 500 metres) there is a boulangerie for your morning croissants and baguette, a small supermarket, 2 local bars/restaurants (very simple fresh food). Gallician is also a ‘halte nautique’ along the canal ‘Rhône to Sète’. In VAUVERT (6 kilometres), there are two very well stocked large supermarkets, restaurants and twice weekly markets.
     
If you are feeling sportive, we have a few BICYCLES at your disposal, or maybe you prefer to bring your own.

Discover the Camargue also on HORSEBACK as proposed by the many local equestrian centres.
Another original way to visit the Petite Camargue is by ‘CALECHE’ (open horse-drawn carriage).

BIRDWATCHING is a definite MUST!
CANOEING/KAYAK on the Petit Rhône is very popular (15 mins).

GOLF
at La Grande Motte and Nîmes within 30 mins.
The kilometres of magnificent sandy BEACHES of the MEDITERRANEAN, wind surfing, sailing, kite surfing etc.
